Stewardship
Prayer |

|
Generous God,
I give thanks to you for the gifts you have given me - my life, my family, my friends, time, talents, and material possessions. All that I have comes from you. Help me to remember this and rejoice in your goodness.
I give glory to you, my God, as I make stewardship a way of life.

O God,
Grant that today ......
I may not disappoint any friend;
I may not grieve any loved one;
I may not fail anyone to whom I have a duty;
I may not shame myself.
Grant that today....... I may do my work with honesty and fidelity;
I may take my pleasure in happiness and purity.
Grant that today ...... I may lead no one astray;
I may not make goodness and faith harder for anyone.
Help me today to be a help and example to all;
to bring strength and encouragement wherever I am:
Through Jesus Christ my Lord, Amen.
... William Barclay (1907-1978)

Words Directly from Our Pastor
My Dear Friends in Christ:
I want to thank everyone who in any way helped in the celebrations of our 10th Anniversary. Everything we do this year as a community is a celebration of the wonderful things God has done for us over the past ten years. Look how far we've come in such a short time! It's nothing short of a miracle.
I think the most beautiful miracle of all is the community of spirit He has built among us. The other day during Mass, I saw an elderly gentleman who was having difficulty standing after the homily. As he struggled to his feet, a woman crossed the aisle, gently held his shoulders and helped him to his feet. Here in the context of the greatest act of love the world has ever known, I saw a simple act of charity before me. To me, it represented the spirit of St. Clare's Parish and what we are all about. We don't have to do great things to build our parish, but little things with great love, sometimes stepping out of our comfort zones to make visible the love of Christ!
Thank you, my friends, for showing Christ's love to me.

| Ministry of the Month:
Mothers' Prayer Group
'Mothers' Prayers' was launched in England in 1995 by two grandmothers who felt led by the Lord to pray in a special way for their children. Through prayer, they learned that Jesus wishes all mothers to surrender their children into His care, to take away pain from the parents and to pour blessings on their children. 'Mothers' Prayers' has now spread throughout the world, exists in over 90 countries, and there have been many wonderful answers to prayers.
A prayer group may be started with only two mothers to a maximum of eight. Usually members meet every week. They obey the strict rule of confidentiality and anything that is said at the meeting must never be repeated. As mothers learn to trust each other, through their prayers and sharing together, their burdens become lighter.
All groups of mothers around the world unite in prayer for the same intentions during three days four times a year. These three days of prayer are in the last weekends of January, March, June, and September.
The first day, Friday, we spend time asking the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of our lives for which we need to ask forgiveness.
The second day, Saturday, we ask the Lord for forgiveness for those in authority who are acting contrary to His will, and for all those who by their actions are harming our children and our society.
The third day, Sunday, is a day of Praise and Thanksgiving.
You can read more about this group at:
www.mothersprayers.org.
For further information please contact Rozalia at 604-944-1554 or Bernadette at 941-1980.
